Slag aggregate for the road construction sector

Slag Aggregate UTEX obtained from boiler slag may be used, depending on needs, in the road construction sector, independently or as aggregate improving gradation for:erection of embankments in accordance with PN-S-02205:1998 The material is used as a substitute of natural sand.

Slag aggregate UTEX is intended for use in communication engineering:
Variation 1:

  • for hard unimproved pavement implemented in the technology of pavement from the mechanically compacted aggregate according to PN-S-06102:1997 as the aggregate improving gradation or as the basic aggregate compacted with hydraulic binding agents for traffic loading category from KR1 to KR2
  • for earthworks according to PN-S-02205:1998, including the lower and upper layers of embankments above and below the freezing zone and in the zone of freezing, also to fill free spaces in the soil or rocky and coarse-grained aggregates and the backfill of engineering facilities including: backfill of excavations for installations, backfill of abutments and retaining structures.
  • for unbound auxiliary substructure lin the lower layers, according to WT-4 2010 in the technology of mechanical stabilization according to PN-S-06102:1997 for traffic loading category from KR1 to KR6 according to the "Catalogue of typical constructions of flexible and composite pavements" exclusively as a component improving gradation supplementing grain size from 0 mm to 63 mm,
  • for the auxiliary substructure according to PN-S-96023:1984, exclusively as a filling and/or wedging material, to the traffic loading category from KRI to KR6,
  • for the auxiliary substructure and improved substrate of pavement according to WT-5 2010 in the technology of cement-bound layer or the binding agent according to Technical Approvals of IBDiM according to PN-S-96012: 1997 for traffic loading category from KR1 to KR3,
  • for compensating ballast to small -sized concrete elements.

Variation 2:

  • for earthworks according to PN-S-02205:1998 as the aggregate improving gradation and drying.
  • for hard unimproved pavement implemented in the technology of pavement from the mechanically stabilized aggregate according to PN-S-06102:1997 as the aggregate improving gradation drying or as the basic aggregate compacted with hydraulic binding agents for traffic loading category from KR1 to KR2
  • for the unbound auxiliary base course in lower layers, according to WT-4 2010 in the technology of mechanical stabilization according to PN-S-06102:1997 to traffic loading category from KR1 to KR6 exclusively as a component improving gradation in supplementing grain size from 0 mm to 63 mm.

Slag aggregate UTEX can be used for grading and site grading of terrains during the construction of roads. Scope of the slag aggregate application UTEX:

  • for public roads without limitation, for the purpose of and in accordance with the conditions set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy dated 2nd March 1999 on technical conditions for public roads and their location {Journal of Laws No.43, item 430 as amended.) and the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy dated 16th January 2002 on technical and construction regulations related to toll motorways (Journal of Laws No. 12, item 116 as amended.)
  • for internal roads for the purpose of the provisions of the act dated 21 st March 1985 on public roads (Journal of Laws No.19, consolidated text)
  • for civil airports limited to:
    • pavement of runways
    • pavement of taxiways,
    • pavement of slabs,
    • pavement of separated parking stalls
  • for the purpose of and in accordance with the conditions set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy dated 31 st August 1998 on technical and construction conditions for civil airports (Journal of Laws No 130, item 859 as amended.)
  • for railway with limitation to the embankment and auxiliary layers for the purpose of and in accordance with the conditions set out in the Regulation of the Minister of Transport and Maritime Economy dated 10th September 1998 on technical requirements to be met by railway structures and their location (Journal of Laws No 151, item 987 as amended.)
